Tennessees Jarrett Guarantano benched after throwing two pick-sixes against Kentucky – ESPN

Tennessee Volunteers head coach Jeremy Pruitt benched beginning quarterback Jarrett Guarantano with 10:33 left in the 2nd quarter versus Kentucky on Saturday. Redshirt sophomore J.T. Shrout can be found in to replace Guarantano.
Guarantano threw two interceptions for goals– the very first came at 12:47 in the 2nd quarter, when Kentuckys Kelvin Joseph returned the pass 41 yards to give the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. 6 plays later on, Jamin Davis took another back for 85 lawns to make it a 14-0 video game.
Three plays into his first drive, Shrout tossed an interception. Guarantano came in for Tennessees next series and led the Vols on a 14-play, 75-yard touchdown drive before halftime.
Shrout, a three-star hire from the Vols 2018 class out of Newhall, California, saw limited action in 4 games for the Volunteers last season, completing 13 of 27 passes for 179 yards and one goal.
