Pokémon Go’s Electabuzz Community Day will take place on Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time zone.
The event will feature Electabuzz spawning in abundance, with a high chance to find the Pokémon as a Shiny, as well as several other perks. Keep in mind that Electabuzz does need a Sinnoh Stone to evolve, but it’s likely that these will be rewarded from Field Research throughout the event.
How do I get a Shiny Electabuzz?
Since Electabuzz will be popping up everywhere, just tap every Electabuzz you see until you get a Shiny one. You’ll find one sooner or later, as the Shiny rate on Community Days is boosted to about a one in 24 rate.
What special move does Electivire learn?
When evolved from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Nov. 15, Electivire will learn Flamethrower. This makes Electivire better for PvP, but not particularly meta-relevant.
How do I make the most of this Community Day?
Egg hatch distance will be reduced to 1⁄4 the usual amount, so definitely use any Incubators you have. Notably, the only way to get a Shiny Elekid is to hatch one and Elekid will be hatching from two kilometer eggs. Since this is the first Community Day with a baby Pokémon like this, we’re unsure if the Shiny rate from Elekid hatches is increased, but it’s worth trying.
Electivire is one of the best PvE attackers in the game for gyms and raids. Give it Thunder Shock and Wild Charge and it’s only beaten out by the Legendary Zekrom and Shadow Pokémon. If you’re really trying to be the best of the best, take down Team Go Rocket at Poké Stops to try and grab a Shadow Electivire, which is the best electric-type attacker in the game.
Electivire is also quite good in the Ultra League for PvP. Give it Thunder Shock, Wild Charge, and Ice Punch, and it’ll do some serious damage. Again, its Shadow form is much stronger, so grab one of those if you can.
If you’re deciding which Shiny Electabuzz to evolve at the end of the day, try using one of the new search strings. Sort your ‘mons by “recent” using the lower right icon, and then type “4*” in the search box at the top. This will let you know if you have any 100% IV Electabuzz. Most people won’t be so lucky, so next you’ll want to type “3*” in the search box, which will show you any recent ‘mons that are 80% or above. Appraise these to see which one is best, and then evolve your new buddy!
