Penn State has revealed its official depth chart for an upcoming Saturday matchup at home against Iowa.
There were a few changes on the Nittany Lions’ official depth chart after the team’s loss to Nebraska over the weekend. Keep in mind that the official depth chart is typically a reflection of the previous week’s personnel.
– The offense remains listed the same with Sean Clifford at the helm followed by Will Levis at quarterback. Levis finished the game against the Cornhuskers over the weekend and almost brought the Nittany Lions back from a 27-6 deficit. It is expected that James Franklin will address the quarterback situation at his Tuesday press conference.
– Running back Devyn Ford tops freshmen Caziah Holmes and Keyvone Lee, both separated by an ‘OR’ designation. Holmes and Lee each got work against Nebraska on Saturday.
– There was a shift on the offensive line, with senior Will Fries sliding inside to right guard to take over for CJ Thorpe. Caedan Wallace is now listed as the first-team right tackle. True freshman Olu Fashanu makes his first appearance as the third-team right tackle.
– There were shifts at wide receiver, where Daniel George started once again last week over freshman KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Jahan Dotson and Parker Washington remain starters at the other wideout spots. Veteran Cam Sullivan-Brown, who has been noticeably absent at the position, has shifted to the second-teamer behind Dotson.
– Sophomore Keaton Ellis and redshirt freshman Daequan Hardy continue to share an “OR” designation behind starting redshirt freshman cornerback Joey Porter Jr. At the other cornerback spot, sophomore Marquis Wilson sustains solitary possession of the No. 2 job behind senior Tariq Castro-Fields. Ellis started against Nebraska as Castro-Fields was held out for an unspecified reason.
