Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals Week 11 snap counts – Field Gulls

On a short week fresh off an ugly loss, the Seattle Seahawks delivered a convincing win over the then-NFC West leading Arizona Cardinals. Now back in first place in the division and headed into a mini bye week, the Seahawks will hopefully see a number of players return from injury ahead of Week 12.

Already one player who returned made a major impact and carried his position group. That and more notes, below.

  • DK Metcalf consistently plays over 90% of the offense’s snaps, which is quite unusual for a wide receiver. He has proven to be an absolute warrior and rarely, if ever, comes off the field. Metcalf is a luxury for the offense in every sense.
  • As mentioned off the top, Carlos Hyde returned for Seattle on Thursday and carried the backfield, playing 70% of snaps and churning out 79 yards and a score on 14 carries. It should have been obvious in the moment and definitely is now in hindsight: losing Hyde and Chris Carson at the same time was a tough blow.
  • With Hyde returning, DeeJay Dallas found snaps hard to come by, playing 11%, while practice squad call-up Bo Scarbrough played 18% before leaving with a painful looking injury.
  • Will Dissly just out snapped Greg Olsen who was carted off, with 65% of snaps to Olsen’s 61. It will be fascinating to see how they manage the position moving forward with Olsen out. Jacob Hollister, who has seen his role grow in recent weeks, played just 20% of snaps.
  • Jarran Reed, 82%, and Carlos Dunlap, 76%, played more than is ideal, but frankly, the Seahawks needed them. And they delivered in the biggest spots.
  • Ugo Amadi saw 70% of the defensive snaps against Arizona’s spread out offense, and was absolutely everywhere as usual. Amadi has just a fantastic sense for where the ball is going and is so strong as a tackler when he arrives.
  • Rasheem Green played a season high 60% of defensive snaps, which was encouraging to see as he returns from a neck injury. Green is quite possibly the team’s third best pass rusher and to get him more involved will be a big boost down the stretch.
  • In his second appearance, Snacks Harrison’s snaps increased to 39% and he appeared to be more active. Now having been elevated twice, it’s likely a roster move will come before Week 12 in order to get him onto the 53-man roster.
  • Benson Mayowa had a quiet return from injury, playing just 27% of the defense’s snaps. Have to imagine that’s more related to easing him back into the lineup.
  • Finally, Jordyn Brooks played just 37% of snaps, compared to 94% for K.J. Wright. Thought it wasn’t a problem at all in Week 11, it would still be nice to see those two rotated more often than they have been.
