On a short week, injuries can be devastating. The Raiders came out of their loss to the Colts Sunday with several of them, mostly on the defense. They will be missing more than half their defensive starters to injury including DE Clelin Ferrell (shoulder), DT Maliek Collins (IR), LB Nicholas Morrow (concussion), CB Damon Arnette (concussion), SS Johnathan Abram (concussion), and FS Jeff Heath (IR).
With their absences, this is what the starting defense figures to look like Thursday night when the Raiders face the Chargers.
DE Maxx Crosby
DE Carl Nassib/Arden Key
DT Johnathan Hankins
DT Maurice Hurst
LB Nick Kwiatkoski
LB Cory Littleton
CB Trayvon Mullen
CB Nevin Lawson
SCB Lamarcus Joyner
SS Dallin Leavitt
FS Erik Harris
Harris has been a starter and has played the third-most snaps on the defense this season. The opposite end of the spectrum is fellow safety Leavitt, who has played just 18 defensive snaps this season.
With no depth behind them, Isaiah Johnson and Daryl Worley are the most likely to step up either for injury or in certain situations. Joyner has played a lot of safety in his career, though if last season is any indication, they will stick with him at nickel cornerback.
Vic Beasley saw 24 snaps at defensive end last week, and could again see significant time.
