Washington signs Mychal Kendricks off of Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad – Field Gulls

The Seahawks released linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong off their practice squad last week, with the veteran already having been elevated twice. Now, they have seen their other practice squad linebacker depart.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Monday that Washington has signed Mychal Kendricks off Seattle’s practice squad to their active roster, a day after the Seahawks handed Washington a home defeat.

Seattle originally signed Kendricks, a starter for the team in 2019, to their practice squad in October. He was released two weeks later, reportedly to pursue an offer with a more clear path to an active roster. However, when that fell through, he returned to the Seahawks a day later.

Kendricks was never elevated from Seattle’s practice squad to their game day roster but will now have the chance to compete for a division title with Washington, starting next Sunday against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Seahawks now have an open spot on their 16-player practice squad, following Kendricks’ departure.
