Alien: Isolation is free on the Epic Games Store until Dec. 22 – Polygon

The latest of 15 free games the Epic Games Store is giving away over the holidays is Alien: Isolation, so far the biggest name of the freebies to drop. It also means, as SlashGear points out, that a list leaked on Twitter last week has been right about each of the first five.

Alien: Isolation is yours to download and keep, free (you need an Epic Games Store account, also free) until 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday. Creative Assembly’s 2014 survival horror game won praise for its visuals, sound design, and level art that was a dead match for the 1979 sci-fi movie. It took harder criticisms for its relentless antagonist and difficult, repetitive gameplay. Mostly, Alien: Isolation was appreciated for being a good Aliens-licensed game, after the abject failure of Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines the year before.

If the leaked list that SlashGear reported holds true, tomorrow’s game will be Metro 2033, and after that the dictator sim Tropico 5. It’ll close out on New Year’s Eve with Jurassic World Evolution. Given how many of these have been offered by the free games programs on PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live over the years, I’d say it’s a credible compilation, but you’ll have to check in with Epic each day to be sure.
