An already short-handed San Francisco 49ers team had already ruled out Deebo Samuel, Richard Sherman, Jimmie Ward, and Kevin Givens. Dion Jordan was listed as doubtful on the final injury report, which meant the 49ers would have to rely on a much different defensive line than the team trotted out Week 1 against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.
Here are the inactives for Saturday’s game:
WR Deebo Samuel
S Jimmie Ward
CB Richard Sherman
DT Kevin Givens
DL Dion Jordan
WR Matt Cole
DT Javon Kinlaw
Without Kinlaw or Givens, the 49ers will have Arik Armstead and a bunch of names that will look unfamiliar. Darrion Daniels and Alex Barrett will fill in.
George Kittle will play if you’re looking for some excitement. How much we see No. 85 remains to be seen, but it’ll be nice to have the 49ers’ best player back onto the field.
No Sherman, but Emmanuel Moseley will play. He’s likely going to backup Ahkello Witherspoon, who has played well in limited action and continued that play last week against Dallas. Some fans weren’t happy with Sherman’s performance last week and wanted to see a change. Well, here is the change you wanted.
Tarvarius Moore is active after being listed as questionable all week. That helps, as the Niners won’t have to start a third-string safety against an Air Raid offense. With that said, the Cardinals are more of a “spread you out and run it” team, so Moore’s tackling must improve today if the defense is going to get off the field.
