CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Pittsburgh Steelers have a decision to make when they face the Browns on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs have the No. 1 seed locked up and the Steelers have the AFC North and opening playoff weekend home game locked up. The only thing out there for them to think about is seeding and how much does it ultimately matter?
Pittsburgh hasn’t had a real bye week all season and, while this wouldn’t be like a bye week, letting a handful of starters know they aren’t going this week and giving them time to get their minds and bodies right might not be a bad thing. And, hey, there’s nothing wrong with keeping guys healthy for the playoffs.
On the flip side, it might be nice to keep the momentum from the second half of the Colts game going if they can. The playoffs are often about health and momentum and the Steelers could use another strong offensive showing, even if they only play a half, to keep a little momentum going after a brutal December.
There might even be a part of the Steelers who might like the idea of doing what they can to keep the Browns out of the playoffs.
The Browns face what is essentially a win-or-go-home on Sunday against the Steelers. Mary Kay Cabot and I answered four questions about the Browns on Tuesday’s Orange and Brown Talk podcast.
- Will the Browns face the Steelers’ starters?
- Is this the best version of the Browns roster as they get healthy?
- Did anything happen on Sunday that concerned you?
- Is this Kevin Stefanski’s biggest test as a head coach?
