ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that free agent wide receiver Kenny Stills is visiting with the Buffalo Bills, and even indicated that a deal could get done between the two sides.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said on Tuesday that wide receiver Cole Beasley is out “week-to-week” due to a leg injury suffered in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s win over the New England Patriots.
Fellow wideout John Brown was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday after being deemed a close contact of running back T.J. Yeldon, who tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday.
Even if Stills and the Bills can come to a deal and he passes through all the proper protocols, it is uncertain if he will be ready for the team’s Week 17 matchup with the Miami Dolphins in Orchard Park. However, there could be a real chance that he will be readily available for the team come the start of the playoffs.
Stills was released by the Houston Texans back on Nov. 27, in a surprise move, by many. He then cleared waivers and became a free agent.
The 28-year-old veteran originally entered the league as a fifth round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2013, spending his first two seasons there before being traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2015. He then spent the next four years in South Florida before being traded to Houston prior to the 2019 season.
Stills led the NFL with 20.0 yards per-reception in his rookie season, and prior to this season, had only one season of less than 500 yards receiving, topping out at 63 catches for 931 yards in 2014.
In 10 games played this season with the Texans, Stills caught 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. I his eight-year career, Stills has 310 receptions for 4,843 yards and 37 touchdowns, averaging 15.6 yards per-reception.
