Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are eyeing a second-straight Super Bowl title. The Jacksonville Jaguars enacted Operation Tank for Trevor Lawrence and pulled it off without a hitch, finishing at 1-15 to earn the No. 1 overall pick.
The 49ers’ “Revenge Tour” didn’t get out of the starting blocks, as injuries forced them to limp to a 6-10 finish. As such, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch now must turn their attention to improving their roster in the 2021 NFL Draft, where they will have the No. 12 pick. Will they draft a quarterback in Round 1? Another year, another late-season collapse for Jon Gruden and the Raiders, who limped to a 2-5 finish to end the season at 8-8. Derek Carr should return as quarterback, but the Raiders have to improve their defense if they plan to end their long playoff drought in 2021.
