NFL playoffs: Predictions for wild card weekend – The Athletic

The (newly expanded) NFL playoff field is set, and I’m already bracing myself for six wild card games—- and back-to-back days of nine consecutive hours of playoff football. Let’s start hydrating now, friends.

From playoff rematches, to division rivalries to a couple of surprising NFC entries, it’s an intriguing slate. Let’s take an early look at each of the matchups and my way-too-early predictions. (See you back here next Monday to let me know how I was wrong):

Saturday, January 9

No. 7 Indianapolis at No. 2 Bills 1:05 p.m. CBS

First thought: Tough draw for the Colts. But that would have been true for anyone who is tasked with playing Buffalo right now.  The Bills, who have won six straight and nine of their last 10 games, are the AFC’s hottest team, and now they’ll get the added juice of hosting a playoff game (in front of several thousand fans) for the first time in 25 years.
