Emily Wilkinson heard JuJu Smith-Schuster’s pre-game comments loud and clear.
As the Browns destroyed the Steelers in primetime on Sunday, Baker Mayfield’s wife trolled the Pittsburgh receiver, who spoke critically of Cleveland earlier in the week.
“I think they’re nameless gray faces. They have a couple good players on their team, but at the end of the day, I don’t know. The Browns is the Browns,” Smith-Schuster said last week, which Wilkinson posted to her Instagram story.
“What’d you say @juju?” Wilkinson quipped.
The Browns defeated their AFC North rival, 48-37, the team’s first playoff win in 26 years. They’ll face the Chiefs on Sunday in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.
On Monday, Wilkinson — who has been married to Mayfield since July 2019 — posted a celebratory message on Instagram.
“Against all odds…. onto the next one! So proud of the @clevelandbrowns and @bakermayfield,” she wrote.
Smith-Schuster, who had 13 receptions for 157 yards and one touchdown Sunday, said postgame he has no regrets about past remarks.
“You know, I don’t regret what I said. I said the Browns is the Browns,” Smith-Schuster said, according to ProFootballTalk.
“They came out and they played a hell of a game. You know, there’s been games where we feel we lose them and today wasn’t our night and hopefully the same Browns will show up next week against the same opponent and go out and do the same thing they did tonight and have a hell of a game,” he continued.
