Improvements to Guilty Gear Strives online lobbies detailed in new trailer, Story Mode to be a viewing-only experience with no matches played – EventHubs

A new trailer showcasing the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive’s game modes has hit the internet as Arc System Works continues to rev the community up for a fresh chapter of Guilty Gear action.

Arcade, Story, Training, Versus, and other modes are detailed, but we were especially excited to see that improvements have been made to the previously tumultuous online lobby system.

Developers highlight the various ways players can begin exploring Strive depending on their personal preferences. Those who are hoping to begin honing their skills and immediately prepping for competitive play can jump into the Training or Tutorial Modes which place users directly in situations they’ll find themselves in during real matches.

While there was some confusion during Strive’s online lobby beta tests back in the middle of last year, it looks like the team at ArcSys has been working to level things up and make the processes more palatable. Players can wait in Training Mode to be linked up with an opponent, and will be matched up with foes of appropriate skill level.

ArcSys is taking an interesting approach to Story Mode as it appears to be a viewing-only experience. While traditional fighting game modes of this type almost always take breaks in the storytelling to have users play occasional rounds (often with special stipulations or handicaps), it seems that kind of action is restricted to Arcade Mode.

We actually have a bit more information on these modes thanks to the textual explanations that popped up on the Guilty Gear Strive website about two weeks ago, so be sure to check those out for additional details after you watch this most recent trailer.

Thank you to Kodiak for sending this in.
