Raesjon Davis is staying put.
One of the Buckeyes’ top remaining targets in the 2021 class, the four-star Mater Dei (California) linebacker has committed to USC and will remain in the SoCal area for his college career.

Davis, the No. 48 overall player and No. 4 outside linebacker target in America, had been initially committed to LSU from January to December of 2020.
Following his decommitment, he told Eleven Warriors that Ohio State – led by his relationship with Al Washington – was one of the frontrunners in his recruitment ahead of a visit to Columbus two weeks ago.
“That’s critical because I just want my parents to see it,” Davis said. “So once they see it, I’ll know exactly how I feel. Because my parents are a huge part of my decision so I always ask them about (what they think about a school).
“That’s what I’m trying to see (is that spark). Because I knew after that visit they were excited about it, so I’m trying to see if they get that same feeling about Ohio State. They’re super excited. My mom’s been trying to go up there for the last, like, three weeks. So we’re just happy to finally get out there.”
However, following about two weeks to reflect on his visit and other factors in his recruitment – including a heavy look into the linebacker depth at both Ohio State and USC – Davis has elected to go with the Trojans.
“(My family) just thinks it might be a smart decision to go there because of the lack of depth they have up there,” Davis said of USC two weeks prior to his commitment. “I like USC because I could see myself being able to play early there, and that’s one of the main aspects I’m choosing from. I really wanna play early and hopefully I can get some early playing time my freshman year. So that’s really my main objective, and hopefully I can start my sophomore year. And I’m really looking at somewhere I can be developed and get my education. I’m looking at those two, Ohio State and USC more.”
