Former Alabama kicker Joseph Bulovas announced his new destination Friday night.
The starter for portions of the 2018 and 2019 seasons said he will continue his career at Vanderbilt after previously entering the transfer portal.
“It’s been an amazing four years in Tuscaloosa and I can’t thank Coach Saban and the Alabama program enough for everything they have done for me,” Bulovas wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s truly been an honor to play for the Crimson Tide and be a part of two national championship teams. With that being said, I will be playing my last two collegiate years at Vanderbilt University! #AnchorDown”
Bulovas was on the 2020 Alabama roster but didn’t appear in a game. He was 22-for-29 kicking field goals in the two previous seasons with a long of 49 yards in 2018. Kicking extra points, Bulovas was 75-for-81 in 2018 and 59-for-61 as a sophomore in 2019.
Since he redshirted in 2017 and the 2020 season doesn’t count against their eligibility, Bulovas would have two more seasons to play at Vanderbilt. He lost the starting job in 2020 when Will Reichard came back from a hip injury and made every kick he attempted.
