Well at least it’ll be even on both sides now
Everyone was previously under the impression that Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition would end up with 45 playable characters on its roster when all is said and done, but now we know that number is actually 46.
Capcom recently announced the shapeshifter Eleven will be joining the cast during the Winter Update presentation, and they also already showed off what the character select screen will look like once he and Dan are added in the coming days.
Those hoping for some sort of user interface overhaul from Arcade Edition’s gold and studio theme will probably be disappointed to see things will be remaining the same for Season 5, which isn’t too surprising since Champion Edition didn’t change it up either. Players overall seem pretty happy, however.
It is interesting to see though that Eleven will receive its own standard character slot despite being a “random select” character like we’ve seen in other games like Mokujin for Tekken.
Bumping the final amount of characters does make the number even again, so we won’t have to look at another Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite situation for the rest of the game’s life.
Dan and Eleven will be joining the game together with the Season 5 update following the Capcom Pro Tour 2020 Season Final on February 22, 2021 where the copycat fighter is included with either version of the game’s final season pass.
