Bandai Namco revealed Tekken 7 will add a new character, the prime minister of Poland in the Tekken universe, as its newest DLC charater coming soon.
Bandai Namco teased a brand new Tekken 7 (PS4, Xbox One, PC) character from Poland at the 2nd Annual Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable. Katsuhiro Harada explained they got that idea since Poland had several women serve as prime minister in its history. So they wanted to add one to Tekken. She’s obviously not named or based on an actual prime minister though.
This new character will be released in early spring 2021.
Harada also said he’s actually collaborating with the Poland embassy in Japan for the character. He went to Poland in 2020 too. Everything he was supposed to go there got canceled with corona, tournaments and all, so he just did some sightseeing. Harada jokingly added “I spent Bandai Namco’s money and didn’t pay anything out of my pocket”. He mentioned he has several connections with embassies like that.
On stream, Harada said additional details and an actual reveal of the new Poland character will be coming later.
The very short teaser trailer for the new Tekken 7 character from Poland can be found below. The character speaks actual Polish, as all Tekken characters speak in the language of their country of origin. The trailer started at the 1:26:21 timestamp on the Japanese stream.

As a side note, on stream right before the trailer’s reveal, Harada jokingly explained how a lot of Capcom developers or players like Tokido all end up doing a “Vega pose” on their photos.
Overall, Harada kept joking like that thorough the stream and it definitely was fun to watch. If you knew Japanese at least. As the English stream had several sound issues at the beginning. The Japanese stream too had its share of problems, with some trailers playing without sound. Or Ishiwatari Daisuke’s mic being incredibly bad. At the end of the day though, it’s important to keep in mind how much of a miracle this roundtable thing is in the first place. While fighting game developers always knew each other, we would never see them publicly chat with each other like that in the past.
Harada also recently shared he’d like to make a sequel to Pokken one day.
Tekken 7 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
