After a Twitter leak in December, Riot Game are officially announcing their new MMORPG of League of Legends. They are doing it in a strange way though. Riot Games have a new website for hiring a multitude of different developers to help them undertake this massive task of creating an MMORPG. Here is a look at the potential jobs fans and developers could be brought on for. Checkout the official website here.

While they don’t necessarily have specific roles yet, they are looking for developers with experience in MMOs. Here are the different areas they are looking.
- Gameplay Engineering
- Game Design
- UX Design
- Game Art (All Sup-Disciplines)
- Game Production
As was stated before this is the first time that Riot Games as a company has officially confirmed the MMORPG. This is no doubt a big deal as fans of League of Legends have been wanting this for quite a long time.
Now that the League of Legends MMORPG is confirmed it will be interesting to see what details will come out over what will likely be a lengthy development process. Considering what Riot Games are hiring for, it seems unlikely that this new game will be coming anytime soon. As MMORPG’s can take up to a decade to make, fans should absolutely not expect anything for awhile.
That said, knowing Riot Games, they are always working on things well before it is announced. While they are not great at containing some leaks, even the Twitter leak from Ghostcrawler feels completely intentional. It is possible that they are just starting to ramp up the production but have the story and ideas already solidified.
Either way, this is a game that many fans have dreamed of for quite a long time. The world of League of Legends is very vast and has been one that many thought could be an MMORPG in the future. It is safe to say that expectations for the finished product will likely be pretty high. This is not so much from the fans but what Riot Games sets on themselves.
Speaking of they have set out after 10 years of just making League of Legends and have really expanded. Riot Games now has a multitude of different games out and more on the way. The excitement for the League MMORPG will be big and fans will hopefully get a better picture in the coming years.
