I have a new end-of-pandemic thing to look forward to: being an adult doing the heart installation ceremony with my Animal Crossing: New Horizons stuffed friend at my local mall’s Build-A-Bear Workshop.
Build-A-Bear Workshop, the stuffed animal retailer, announced on Wednesday that an Animal Crossing: New Horizons line is “coming soon.” There are shockingly few details about what that will look like, including which New Horizons characters will be available as part of the collection. Interested bear builders will want to sign up for email updates, the company said.
“COMING SOON! Our Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection is full of fun for all ages,” Build-A-Bear Workshop tweeted. “Sign up for free email and text updates so you don’t miss a thing!”
Build-A-Bear has had increasingly good collaborations over the years, including Pokémon — with Pokémon accessories — and a very cute Baby Yoda. In 2020, Build-A-Bear Workshop released a Sonic the Hedgehog plush that came with two options: shoes on or shoes off. Typically, these Build-A-Bear collection collaborations also offer accessories for purchase separately and options for voice lines. Personally, I’m hoping there are some renditions of K.K. Slider’s “Bubblegum.”
