The Las Vegas Raiders now have a need at right tackle after the pending trade of Trent Brown to the New England Patriots.
It is a big hole because when healthy, Brown was a dominant player at his position. The Raiders do have options, though. They can add a right tackle in free agency or in the draft, even though. there are pressing needs on defense. The Raiders’ current best option is fourth-year tackle Brandon Parker, who has yet to show he can be trusted as a full-time starter. They could try to re-sign veteran backup Sam Young, but he, like Brown, had a hard time staying healthy in 2020.
Free agency may be the best option and, while the thought of replacing Brown may be dauting, there will be options. We were reminded of that Wednesday when the Minnesota Vikings released tackle Riley Reiff.
Vikings released veteran OT Riley Reiff, saving about $11 million in salary-cap space.

Reiff, 32, is entering his 10th NFL season. He is not as good as Brown, but he would be a solid addition at likely a more reasonable price Brown would have settled on.
Will Reiff be the next guy for the Silver and Black? Possibly, sure, but the point is, there will be options.
