The No. 4 seed Florida State faces No. 5 seed Colorado on Monday evening at 7:45 p.m. from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Ind. with a trip to the Sweet 16 in the 2021 NCAA Tournament on the line. SECOND HALF

Florida State leads Colorado, 24-20, at the half. It was a tough shooting half for both teams. FSU was 9-for-22 (40.9%) from the field and 4-for-11 (36.4%) from deep. They went 2-for-3 (66.7%) from the line. Malik Osborne leads FSU with nine points. Anthony Polite has eight points, RaiQuan Gray has four points and Wyatt Wilkes has three points. Colorado is just 9-for-29 (31.0%) from the floor and 2-for-9 (22.2%) from deep. They did not attempt a free throw in the first half. Maddox Daniels and D’Shawn Schwartz each have five points. The Buffs committed 11 first-half turnovers. FSU gave it away nine times, but did a good job of caring for the ball over the final 10 minutes of the first half.

– FSU has won six consecutive NCAA Tournament first round games with their Saturday victory over UNC Greensboro – the longest winning streak of first round NCAA Tournament games in school history. The Seminoles’ current streak began with a 57-50 win over Texas A&M on March 18, 2011 – a victory that led them to their first of three Sweet 16 appearances under Head Coach Leonard Hamilton.

– FSU tied its NCAA Tournament defensive scoring record as it held UNC Greensboro to 54 points in their 64-54 victory on Saturday. It marked the third time in FSU’s NCAA Tournament history that it had allowed only 54 points – against UNC Greensboro, Missouri in 2018 (67-54) and Kentucky in 1972 (73-54).

– The Seminoles’ defensive scoring effort in holding UNC Greensboro to 54 points was the fewest points allowed by the Seminoles this season and third time they had allowed 60 points or less.

The Seminoles, who lead the ACC in field goal percentage defense (.395) have held their last six opponents to a combined shooting percentage of .376 from the field and .295 from the 3-point line.

Florida State gained a 16-point advantage in the first half of its 64-54 win over UNC Greensboro on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It marked the 20th game in their 23 games this season the Seminoles had held a double digit lead against an opponent this season. The Seminoles have led by double digits in the following games: UCF (+10), North Carolina 1 (+11), Pittsburgh (+11), Clemson 1 (+12), Gardner Webb (+13), Georgia Tech 2 (+13), Wake Forest (+13), North Carolina 3 (+13), Georgia Tech 1 (+16), North Carolina 2 (+16), UNC Greensboro (+16), Florida (+18), Miami 2 (+23), Louisville (+24), Miami 1 (+24), Virginia (+25), Boston College (+29), North Florida (+30), NC State (+36), and Clemson 2 (+38).

– FSU, which ranks first in the ACC in 3-point field goal percentage shooting with a conference-leading .383 mark from beyond the arc, defeated UNC Greensboro on Saturday despite not hitting a 3-point shot for the first time since February 25, 2018 against NC State. The Seminoles enter Monday’s game against Colorado shooting .383 from distance and averaging 7.9 3-pont field goals made per game.

– FSU is looking to make their seventh appearance in the Sweet 16 in school history. FSU has made the Sweet 16 three times under head coach Leonard Hamilton, including their last two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019. The prior Sweet 16 appearance came in 2011. FSU’s other Sweet 16 appearances came in 1972 under Hugh Durham and in a 25-team field, 1992 and 1993 under Pat Kennedy in a 64-team field.

– Florida State’s last game against a team from the Pac-12 came as an 80-77 victory over Cal in the championship game of the Global Sports Classic on December 29, 2008 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
