New York Post | Dan Martin: There was a brief hubbub surrounding Aaron Judge on Monday when the outfielder was left out of the lineup for a third day. However, manager Aaron Boone said that Judge was “under the weather” but should be good for Opening Day. Judge went through the COVID-19 protocols, but it appears that he will be all good to go on Thursday.
Newday | Erik Boland: With spring training games wrapping up on Monday, we seem to know the composition of nearly the entire roster heading into the regular season. Brian Cashman said on Monday that Tyler Wade, Mike King, and Nick Nelson will all be part of the team that heads north to start the season. One bullpen spot remains to be filled. In general, Cashman is feeling pretty good about where the team is at to kick of 2021.
MLB Trade Rumors | Steve Adams: As far as players that didn’t make the roster go, Jhoulys Chacín was granted his release by the Yankees in order for him to seek opportunities with other teams. On the other hand, Derek Dietrich and Robinson Chirinos agreed to new deals to keep them in the organization and see them report to the alternate site to start the season.
MLB.com: The Yankees announced that Deivi García was the winner of the 2021 James P. Dawson Award for the most outstanding rookie in camp. The 21-year-old dominated with a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings across his first four starts, fanning 12 before faltering in his final outing. Given the nature of spring training, both excellent prospects (Gleyber Torres, Miguel Andújar) and no-names (Jon Weber, Johnny Barbato) have won this honor in the past, but it still means that García was sharp. It won’t be long before he’s back up with the team.
