Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos rejoined the squad in today’s training session after recovering from the muscle injury he picked up during the past FIFA break. Ramos will be ready to face Chelsea next Wednesday in the return leg of the Champions League Semifinals, a season-defining game for Los Blancos.
Ramos will be needed to play after starting right-back Dani Carvajal picked up a serious hamstring injury in training. Mendy is still questionable, so Eder Militao could play as a right-back and Nacho Fernandez on the left side of the defensive line. Madrid would lack serious depth through the flanks but should have defensive stability with that lineup.
Real Madrid will be expected to make some rotations when they face Osasuna this Saturday, given that most starters are extremely tired. Still, Ramos could play some minutes so that he can gain some confidence and momentum before the crucial match against Chelsea.
