Pokémon Go players are finally getting the Community Day event they won’t shut up about. Developer Niantic announced Friday on Twitter that Gible will be the featured Pokémon for June’s Community Day, a surprise revelation that will hopefully sate the Gible-hungry masses.
Gible Community Day is coming Sunday, June 6, but beyond that, Niantic didn’t offer further details. Traditionally, Pokémon Go Community Days offer a major boost in the number of spawns, so expect to see hundreds of Gible in the wild. The event will also likely let players evolve Gabite into Garchomp to learn a rare, Community Day-exclusive move. It’s also likely that Shiny Gible spawn rates will be boosted.
Niantic’s announcement is something of a surprise, in part because May’s Community Day — which features Swablu — hasn’t happened yet. Swablu will get its time Saturday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Swablu Community Day also heralds the arrival of Mega Altaria in Pokémon Go raids, leading players to speculate that Mega Garchomp may be imminent.
Pokémon Go’s Gible Community Day arrives shortly before the mobile game celebrates its fifth anniversary and 2021’s Pokémon Go Fest, which will take place virtually July 17-18.
