Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch – Polygon

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, the new third-person action RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, will be included in the Xbox Game Pass library when it launches on June 22, publisher Wizards of the Coast and developer Tuque Games announced on Thursday.

Dark Alliance puts players in control of one of four heroes, each with their own special abilities and unique moves, to battle through the frozen land of Icewind Dale. Players can also team up with as many as three friends in co-op — though co-op will be available online only at launch — to take on iconic monsters from the Dungeons & Dragons universe and collect gear around the world. Cross-play will be supported across Windows PC and Xbox.

The game is a spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and Dark Alliance 2, which were also Dungeons & Dragons-themed action role-playing games. Like those original titles, Dark Alliance takes place in the series’ Forgotten Realms timeline.

Dark Alliance will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers, and those in the Ultimate tier of the service will also be able to play the game on Windows 10 PCs and via Xbox Cloud Gaming — where players can play on phones or tablets. The game is also launching June 22 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
