Michelle Lesco crowned new Nathans Hot Dog Eating champion – New York Post

She’s the new queen of Coney Island.

Competitive eater Michelle Lesco wolfed down 30.75 dogs and buns in 10 minutes Sunday en route to her first Nathan’s Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest victory.

Lesco, of Tuscon, Arizona, never trailed during Sunday’s competition — out-eating second-place finisher Sarah Rodriguez by more than seven dogs.

With six minutes left in the match, Lesco barely led Rodriguez 15-13 — but Major League Eating’s second-ranked woman managed to grow her lead in the final minutes despite being unable to jump to aid her digestion due to a torn ACL.

The 37-year-old, 112-pound athlete is a former roommate of seven-time reigning champ Miki Sudo, who is pregnant and did not compete in this year’s contest.

Larell Marie Mele, who came second at the 2020 competition, finished third on Sunday, scarfing down 18.25 hot dogs.
