NEW YORK — So much for the improving forecast.

Saturday night’s game between the Yankees and the Red Sox was delayed by the threat of rain. First pitch was scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Now? Who knows.

But we’ll update here when we know.

Here’s the report from the National Weather Service:

Showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Patchy fog after 2am. Low around 74. South wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

According to Elias, his 147K through his first 18 starts are the second-most by any Yankees pitcher in his first 18 starts of a season, trailing only David Cone’s 153K in 1997. Last pitched on 7/10 at Houston and earned the win, tossing his third career complete-game shutout in the Yankees’ 1-0 victory (9.0IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 12K)…struck out 12 batters, marking his sixth double-digit strikeout game of the season…was the first Yankees pitcher to toss a complete-game shutout and notch at least 12K since Mike Mussina on 9/24/02 vs. Tampa Bay (12K)… Was just the fifth Yankees pitcher in the last 39 seasons (since 1983) to toss a complete-game shutout in a 1-0 win, joining CC Sabathia (7/10/11 vs. Tampa Bay), Ted Lilly (6/22/02 at San Diego), Mike Mussina (9/2/01 at Boston) and Shawn Hillegas (7/20/92 at Oakland)…his four games with at least 12K this season are tied with Al Downing (four in 1963) for the most in franchise history.
