Here’s what you need to know:

Who is Davis? Davis, 29, had been designated for assignment by Toronto. In 52 big-league games, he’s hit .143 with a homer and four RBI nad a .482 OPS. He’s played parts of four major-league seasons with the Blue Jays and has a career .180 batting average. Davis might not stick long with the Yankees, who have several players on the injured list and the COVID-19 injured list. Davis figures to be the team’s fifth outfielder. Davis is considered a solid defender at all three outfield positions.

Who is Romano? Romano, 27, had also been designated for assignment by the Yankees. He had a 4.70 ERA in 16 appearances between the Reds and the Yankees this season. He’s a five-year big-leaguer with a 5.10 ERA in 85 games. Romano said that he was a diehard Yankees fan growing up on Long Island.
