CHICAGO — The Cubs and Brewers will have to wait another day to renew their rivalry.
On Monday night, inclement weather forced the postponement of the opener of a four-game series between the National League Central foes at Wrigley Field. The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Tuesday.
Lefty Justin Steele will make his first Major League start for the Cubs in the opener of the twin bill at 1:20 p.m. CT. Chicago will then hand the ball to righty Alec Mills for the 7:05 p.m. CT nightcap. Both games will be seven innings.
Tickets for Monday’s postponed game will be valid for use for the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader. Mobile tickets via the MLB Ballpark app will be updated automatically with the makeup game information. No ticket exchange will be necessary.
The Cubs will require separate tickets for each game, meaning fans will be asked to exit Wrigley Field after the completion of the 1:20 p.m. CT makeup contest. Gates will then reopen for the second game approximately 90 minutes after the last pitch of the first game.
