VIDEO: UFC welterweight stops would-be car thief while wearing fanny pack – MMA Fighting

A tip for any would-be car thieves: It’s probably never a good idea to pick a UFC fighter as your target.

One hapless individual found that out Wednesday after attempting — and failing — to steal the car of UFC welterweight Jordan Williams. The 30-year-old fighter posted surveillance video of the incident on Instagram. In the clip, a man enters Williams’ car while Williams is inside a convenience store, starts the vehicle, then begins to back up before Williams rushes outside, feeds him a couple of clinch knees, then throws him out of the car.

The would-be carjacker ultimately runs away while being shouted at by Williams, who is wearing a bright yellow fanny pack throughout the sequence.

Watch video of the incident below.

So someone tried to steal my car today #thatfannypacktho

If you are wondering why my car was still on its the same reason why he couldn’t drive away, I have a push to start and my car won’t go unless the keys are within 5 ft of it and I have them on me always. Needless to say my lesson was learned and I hope so was his.

Wish I would of hit him with the trip after the clinch work when I tossed him out of the whip, and finish off with some ground and pound but I’ll settle with getting my car back

Also I know you see the stillness of that fannypack, fannyback game was on point this could be a commercial for them

A veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series, Williams (9-5) has dropped back-to-back contests over his UFC run, losing to Nassourdine Imavov and Mickey Gall.

But he’s now 1-0 against attempted carjackers — and his victory on Wednesday marked a win for fanny pack lovers across the world.
