The feud between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley became even more personal after their press conference on Thursday, and the MMA community is firmly behind the former UFC welterweight champion.
Though the trash talk flew freely just days ahead of their Aug. 29 encounter, Paul and Woodley kept cool heads for the most part all the way up until they had to stare one another down. Shortly afterward, an altercation broke out in the crowd, apparently stemming from someone from Paul’s team getting into an argument with Woodley’s mother Deborah (affectionately known as “Mama Woodley”).
The tension escalated from there, and members from both Paul and Woodley’s entourage threatened to get physical until the crowd was dispersed.
Video of the incident circulated quickly, and the MMA community was just as quick to react, including noted mom enthusiast Michael Chiesa, Bellator champion Cris Cyborg, and Din Thomas, a close friend of Woodley’s.

I’m sorry, my brotha @TWooodley . I’m sorry, Momma Woodley. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for y’all today.
