The Las Vegas Raiders have announced 15 of their 16-member practice squad after signing them on Tuesday.
Here is the group:
The team will likely sign its final player soon and expect this 16-player group to change often in the next several weeks. The 16th member is expected to be cornerback Madre Harper as it has been reported that he is headed to Las Vegas. Harper signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent last year after having spent last season with the New York Giants.
At first glance, there isn’t a ton of surprises on this group. Most of the Raiders’ young players on the bubble are on this list.
I guess they could have signed veterans Karl Joseph and Isaiah Johnson. But Joseph signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad and Johnson inked with the Houston Texans’ practice squad as they were both probably looking for fresh starts. Remember, the Raiders can always sign either player to their 53-man roster. (I think Joseph would be the most likely of the two, if there is an injury at his position.)
I like that wide receiver Dillon Stoner, running backs Trey Ragas and B.J. Emmons and tight end Matt Bushman are on this squad. They’re all interesting skill-position players that all have a chance to be part of the 53-man roster at some point. I also like that seventh-round pick, center Jimmy Morrissey is back. He is the type of effort player that can help at practice.
All and all, this is appears to be a solid group. What do you most like about this squad?
