FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins have one half of football in the books in their regular-season opener at Gillette Stadium. Miami’s offense led by second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa drew first blood with a 10-play, 80-yard touchdown drive to begin their day. However, the Dolphins offense largely went silent beyond that as the Patriots started to clamp down defensively. As for New England’s offense, it was a shaky start for first-round rookie Mac Jones as he made his NFL debut, but the Alabama product eventually settled down and led the offense on two scoring drives, including a drive that ended with a seven-yard touchdown to Nelson Agholor — the first of his career.
Which one of these AFC East rivals will come through in the second half? We’re about to find out. As this action continues to unfold, hang out in our live blog below where we’ll be giving you instant analysis and real-time highlights.
