EUGENE — Oregon’s backup quarterback is official, albeit under less than ideal circumstances.
True freshman Ty Thompson took over to start the second half for the No. 4 Ducks, who led Stony Brook 17-7 at halftime at Autzen Stadium on Saturday.
Anthony Brown Jr. was 14 for 18 for 159 yards with a touchdown and had four carries for a yard and touchdown during the first half, which ended with the sixth-year senior being sacked on back-to-back plays.
Brown left the field at halftime appearing to favor his neck. He didn’t return to the Oregon sideline during the third quarter.
The Oregonian/OregonLive will update this story.
