In the pandemic era, it’s easy to forget about another important inoculation—the flu vaccine. While we got off lightly in 2020, health experts are suggesting that flu season could be much worse this year—even more reason to get your shot this fall. For further incentive, consider choosing a pharmacy or grocery store that offers cash coupons with your vaccination:
- Albertsons offers 10% off grocery purchases up to $200 with any immunization. Some restrictions apply, so call your local Albertsons pharmacy for details before you go.
- CVS Pharmacy customers at CVS locations can get $5 off any purchase over $20, through Dec. 31. Note that only standalone CVS locations are eligible. To schedule a flu shot at a CVS near you, click here.
- Fresco y Más grocery stores will give its customers a $10 store coupon with a flu shot, plus another $10 coupon if you get another immunization shot in the same visit.
- Harveys supermarkets offers a $10 store coupon with a flu shot, plus another $10 coupon if you get another immunization shot in the same visit.
- Rite Aid customers who get a flu shot will receive $5 off any purchase of $25 or more, through Sept. 30.
- Target has CVS locations in some of its stores, and they have a deal similar to what’s found in regular CVS outlets—$5 off any Target purchase over $20, through Dec. 31.
- Walgreens offers $5 in Walgreens Cash with your flu shot. With each flu shot, Walgreens will also donate $0.23 to a United Nations vaccine fund.
- Winn-Dixie pharmacies offer a $10 store coupon with a flu shot, plus another $10 coupon if you get another immunization in the same visit.
The CDC recommends getting your flu shot in early fall, so now is the perfect time to get one. By law, flu shots should also be free with insurance, and it’s recommended for everyone except babies who are under 6 months old.
