Eagles Injury Report: Jordan Mailata misses practice, Cowboys defensive line further depleted – Bleeding Green Nation

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 3 Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Three players DID NOT PARTICIPATE in practice: Jordan Mailata, Fletcher Cox, and Boston Scott.

Mailata is reportedly expected to miss this week’s game after getting banged up yesterday (but allegedly unbeknownst to the Eagles until after the Thursday injury report already came out). Pretty concerning! His replacement, Andre Dillard, arguably had the worst training camp of any Eagles player. The 2019 first-round pick didn’t do much to even justify his spot on the 53-man roster. Perhaps he’ll be able to make it through this game with the benefit of extra help and going up a Cowboys defensive line that’s been depleted. But the Eagles need to hope that Mailata gets healthy soon.

Cox missed practice for the second day in a row. Doesn’t seem to be in jeopardy of missing the game. The Eagles could really use a monster performance from him. Been too long.

Scott missed practice due to illness. He’s yet to see an offensive snap this season.

Three players were LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: Jason Kelce, Rodney McLeod, and Davion Taylor.

Kelce returned after not practicing on Thursday. He should be good to go.

McLeod seems bound to miss another game based on how this week is progressing. He missed the first two games after being limited on the first two days of practice leading up to those Sundays. K’Von Wallace appears to be in line for another start.

Taylor might have a shot to play this week after all. He was able to return after not practicing on Thursday. But the Eagles might just need to rest him to make sure he doesn’t re-aggravate his calf injury yet again.

Three players were listed as FULL PARTICIPANTS: Miles Sanders, Hassan Ridgeway, and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.

Good to see Sanders back in full after being limited on Thursday.

Ridgeway was back after sitting out due to illness.

JJAW is on track to play this week.

DALLAS COWBOYS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)

The Cowboys’ Friday injury report is pretty similar to their Thursday version. The only significant change is that Amari Cooper went from being limited to full go. Cooper’s had his fair share of success against the Birds so they won’t be excited to see him playing.

Not injury related but also of note is that defensive end Bradlee Anae was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Cowboys are now missing DeMarcus Lawrence, Neville Gallimore, Carlos Watkins, Dorance Armstrong, and Anae on the defensive line. Dallas is getting Randy Gregory back but they’ll need their depth players to step up against Philly’s offensive line.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

DE Dorance Armstrong (ankle)
OT Ty Nsekhe (illness)
S Donovan Wilson (groin)
DE Carlos Watkins (knee)

FULL PARTICIPATION

WR Amari Cooper (rib)
WR Simi Fehoko (knee)

Note: With this week’s game on Monday, the Eagles and Cowboys will issue their final injury reports on Saturday (as opposed to the normal Friday release).
