The Denver Broncos have lost second-year wide receiver KJ Hamler for the season to a torn ACL in his left knee. This is a brutal blow for the offense. Hamler’s knee injury came from a leaping attempt at a catch which saw him land awkwardly on that left leg in the second quarter of their game against the New York Jets.
Broncos’ WR K.J. Hamler tore his ACL Sunday and is out for the season, per source.

Hamler, the Broncos second round pick from 2020, was poised for a breakout season as Denver’s explosive home run threat on offense. This injury is a big setback to his career, but hopefully he’ll be able to rehab and get healthy for a 2022 return.
The challenge for Denver will be adjusting their play calling moving forward as Hamler was the guy on offense that could completely blow the top off the opposing defense. Filling that role isn’t going to happen, so Offensive Coordinator Pat Shumur will have to get more creative with his play calling to overcome this devastating loss on offense.
Here’s to hoping Hamler has a good rehab and recovery over the next 6-9 months. Hope to see him back to form by early next season.
