Genshin Impact 2.1 is nearing its end, and that means that it is time for a Genshin Impact 2.2 Livestream to find out what will be in the next version of the game. With so little info about Genshin Impact 2.2 leaking beforehand, there are certain to be a few surprises in store for fans.
There is only ONE day left until the stream.
Here’s what we know.
When Does The Genshin Impact 2.2 Stream Start?
The “Special Program Announcement”, will air on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 9 a.m EST.
It is a strange move on miHoYo’s part, never having streamed a Special Program over a weekend.
The stream will take place on miHoYo’s Official Twitch channel, with a VOD to be made available on their YouTube channel shortly after.
What to Expect
Inazuma Expands for the Last Time
The last island of Inazuma is finally expected to launch in Genshin Impact 2.2. Tsurumi Island was first seen in the 1.6 Livestream and is a solemn place surrounded by a dense fog. Its been many years since anyone has visited this island; being shrouded in mystery and hard to access by boat, some even wonder if it is still there.
Leaks have shown that humanoid spirits appear in great numbers on certain parts of the island, making Tsurumi a chilling place to explore.
New Characters
miHoYo has already confirmed that Thoma, a 4-Star Pyro Polearm user will arrive in Genshin Impact 2.2, and it is likely he will be part of the first Character Event Banner of the update.
Surprisingly, there has been no word of Yae Miko getting a banner in this version.
Character Reruns
With no 5-Star characters announced for Genshin Impact 2.2, rumors have been spreading that fans may see reruns of Ganyu, Hu Tao, and/or Childe.

Genshin On Nintendo Switch?
At the moment, we still don’t know when Genshin Impact is coming to Nintendo Switch.
It was originally announced for September 2020 but has been indefinitely delayed with no new release date offered.
Many seem to think that this is due to miHoYo needing more power for Genshin Impact and reflects the developer holding out for a “Nintendo Switch Pro”.
Nintendo, though, has just announced the Nintendo Switch (OLED model), and it doesn’t look like a “Switch Pro” is coming anytime soon.
Honestly, there will most likely be no new news of the Genshin Impact on the Switch any time soon.
Genshin Impact’s Next Update Is Due Soon
The next Genshin Impact update, which will be revealed in the stream we’re having a countdown for, is due sooner than you might think.
Genshin Impact 2.2 is expected to be released on October 13, 2021.
