Ravens QB Lamar Jackson reportedly expected to start vs. Broncos – Yahoo Sports

Never before has Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed a game due to injury, and that streak looks like it’ll continue. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson is expected to make his Week 4 start against the Denver Broncos.

Jackson has been battling a “back flare-up” for most of the week, Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman said on Thursday. He missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was able to return on Friday. According to ESPN, Jackson “moved around well” during Friday’s practice, and “didn’t appear to favor his back at any point.”

The Ravens, however, listed him as questionable on Friday, leaving open the possibility that Jackson would miss his first-ever game due to injury.

Jackson should be challenged by the Broncos defense, which has been strong thus far, allowing the lowest points per game in the league at 8.7. However, it’s worth noting they’ve defeated the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets so far — not exactly world beaters.

Jackson has faced a slightly higher caliber of team thus far. Through three games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions, he’s averaged a career-high 83.7 rushing yards per game.
