SF Giants news: MLB postseason schedule set for Week 1 – McCovey Chronicles

The San Francisco Giants get a few days off, a worthy prize for winning the NL West in dramatic fashion. Four days off, specifically, which is a nice break to reset and refuel.

On Monday, a day after the regular season concluded, MLB announced the postseason schedule for the first week of the playoffs. The Giants play Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday at 6:37 p.m. PT, and Game 2 on Saturday at 6:07 p.m. PT, before having Sunday off. Both games take place at Oracle Park and are televised on TBS.

The ALDS has a day off between games when the series switches locations, so it’s fairly safe to assume that Games 3 and 4 (if necessary) will be on Monday, Oct. 11 and Tuesday, Oct. 12, with Game 5 (if necessary) back in San Francisco on Thursday, Oct. 14.

But while we know when the Giants will play, we don’t yet know whom the Giants will play. That will get determined on Wednesday, when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Game. If you want to watch to see who the Giants will face off against (and bring some Beat LA vibes), the game takes place at 5:10 p.m. PT on TBS.

Here’s the full schedule this week, in case you’re interested in non-Giants baseball.
