Yankees news: Yankees have big decisions to make this coming offseason – Pinstripe Alley

CBS Sports | Mike Axisa: This is going to be an interesting offseason for the Yankees as they have some important choices to make. For one, manager Aaron Boone’s contract is up and they have to make a decision on him. Beyond that, they have to think about Aaron Judge inching closer to free agency, what to do about the infield after Gleyber Torres’ iffy season, and more.

New York Post | Mike Vaccaro: Gerrit Cole was not good in his start in the AL Wild Card Game, and, at least for the moment, there’s a real blip on his Yankees’ résumé. The good news for him is that he’ll probably have some more chances over his career to correct that and have some great October moments as a Yankee. One example of someone who did just that was Mariano Rivera, who famously had a bad playoff moment early in his career in 1997.

New York Post | Dan Martin: A lot of people have weighed in on the Phil Nevin’s decision to send Aaron Judge home in what became an out at the plate, putting a dampener on a potential rally in the Wild Card Game. Nevin himself got in on the conversation and attempted to explain some of the factors that led to his decision. In the end, he says the Red Sox made a great play all around to get Judge at the plate.
