It’s a second consecutive week for fans of the Seattle Seahawks to watch their favorite team play in primetime. In Week 5 it was a letdown as they Hawks fell to the division rival Los Angeles Rams, while in Week 6 it will be a rematch of Super Bowl XL against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
When the two teams take the field, it will be the first game since the 2011 season that has been started by a quarterback other than Russell Wilson, as the team has officially ruled Wilson out for the game. In addition, the offense will also be without starting running back Chris Carson and swing tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, both of whom were also listed as out with injuries.

The fact the Seahawks designated Carson and Wilson as Out on Friday afternoon likely means that neither player made the trip east to Pittsburgh with the rest of the team. NFL rules require that any player who does not accompany the team on a road trip be listed as Out. Since the Seahawks leave for games to be played in the Eastern Time Zone two days prior to the game, it is likely that neither Wilson or Carson will be on the sideline as the Hawks face off against the Steelers.
The only question now will be whether the Seahawks will place Wilson on injured reserve Saturday afternoon, or if they will keep him on the 53 man roster and simply use the inactive spots each week (which, for those who wonder why the inactives exist, it is for situations exactly like this).
Be sure to keep checking back with Field Gulls, as this post will be updated with practice participation once the team has filed its final injury report for the week.
UPDATE:
As promised, here is the final injury report for the week with practice participation included.

Russell Wilson not on the NFL transactions today going on IR, so presumably that will happen Saturday. Rookie CB Tre Brown will be activated off IR to play Sunday night at Pittsburgh, Pete Carroll said today.
