Combine the two and you get the new Street Brawl mode as well
Street Fighter’s ability to cross over to other games and media are unparalleled in the realm of fighting games, and the series’ most iconic characters will be appearing as new challengers in something else very soon.
Blue Mammoth Games and Capcom announced today that Ryu, Chun-Li and Akuma are joining the ranks of Brawlhalla starting next week.
The storied trio will each come packing their own special skins, attack effects and voice over lines to bring them to life in this smaller form.
Since this is Brawlhalla, however, that means the Street Fighter characters are technically considered Epic Crossover skins for existing roster members with their own perks (Ryu being Petra, Chun-Li being Wu Shang and Akuma for Val).
Their iconic special moves like the Hadoken, Shoryuken, Spinning Bird Kick and Tatsumaki Zankukyaku still help them stand out in the crowd.
One top of the skins, Brawlhalla is also adding a new Street Brawl mode that changes the game into a more traditional 2D fighting game with health bars and walls for stages.
A new map based on the Suzaku Castle stage is dropping for the collaboration for the same time as well.
The Brawlhalla X Street Fighter event is scheduled to launch in just a few days on November 22, and the skins and Street Brawl modes will remain available after the event ends.
No pricing is mentioned for what it takes to pick up Ryu or Chunners, but looking at previous crossover releases, they’ll go for about 300 Mammoth Coins apiece — which equates to around $10 USD each.
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play platform fighter that’s reached over 50 million downloads worldwide and is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS and Android devices.
