Kyle Kuzma is feeling the heat after his pre-game fit on Monday included an oversized pink sweater.
The Wizards forward strutted into Capital One Arena — where Washington suffered a 109-103 loss to Charlotte — and turned heads with his top, that seemed to swallow his upper body.
“Ain’t no f–king way you wore that!!!” his former Lakers teammate LeBron James commented under Kuzma’s post on Instagram. “I’m not pressing the like button cause this is outrageous Kuz!”
Lakers star Anthony Davis — who won a championship with Kuzma in the 2020 NBA Bubble, along with James — commented, “You’re outta line sir!!!!”
While fans had plenty of questions about Kuzma’s look, his designer fit by Raf Simons is well-known in fashion circles.
The virgin wool jumper is currently priced at $1,659.
NBA champion-turned-collegiate golfer, J.R. Smith, commented, “Man hellll nawwwwwww.”
NBA free agents Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins chimed in, adding, “Come on kills… lol that one ain’t it haha” and “Cmon bro. S–t getting outta hand now,” respectively.
Kuzma was a good sport throughout the trolling, telling James that his sweater is “fire.” He responded to Smith and Thomas, noting that “it’s cold out.”
“Straight Outta Compton” actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. wasn’t bothered by Kuzma’s fit.
“Bruh is probably cozy as hell,” he tweeted.
Kuzma, meanwhile, opened up about his love for fashion in an interview with Boardroom last month.
“Clothing has always been a big thing to me. Obviously, I love fashion and it’s a way for me to put my creativity on the line and also generate a business. Life is all about art, and I think the first impression in life is always what you wear,” he explained.
“And I always look at fashion not as I’m just putting on clothes, but I’m putting together a story and putting together a look that when you see me, it’s a conversation piece. It’s something we can start a conversation over and talk about. There are just so many outlets that fashion brings.”
Kuzma completed his pre-game look with pants by Rick Owens and Amiri sneakers. It remains a mystery as to what story is behind his oversized sweater.
His fashion game is taking heat, but Kuzma has continued to shine in his debut season with the Wizards. So far, he’s averaging 13.5 points and 9.4 rebounds in 17 games.
The Wizards (11-6) visit the Pelicans (3-16) on Wednesday.
