The relationship between Penn State’s James Franklin and his former defensive coordinator, Brent Pry, is such that it is doubtful Pry’s decision to take the Virginia Tech head coaching job caught Franklin by surprise.
Franklin and Pry go way back. Eight years together at Penn State, three at Vanderbilt. And Pry was on the East Stroudsburg coaching staff during Franklin’s final two years as the ESU quarterback. Pry’s dad, Jim, was Franklin’s offensive coordinator at East Stroudsburg.
