COLUMBUS, Ohio — Craig Young’s transfer does not leave a void in Ohio State’s defense, either for the undetermined bowl matchup or 2022.
The 6-3, 223-pound defender — whether a linebacker or safety or specialized role that defied either description — always tantalized with physical profile and flashes of ability. Yet relegated to a niche role, the impact was as limited as his playing time. The third-year sophomore from Fort Wayne, Indiana played only 138 snaps per Pro Football Focus — only twice surpassing 16 in a game.
