The new Oregon staff under head coach Dan Lanning continues to grow.
On Thursday night, Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports reported that Oregon is set to hire Marshall Malchow as the chief of staff for the football program.

Malchow, 33, is currently the associate athletic director at Texas A&M, where he was hired in the spring of 2020. Texas A&M had a successful 2021 season, beating Alabama at home and securing a top-five recruiting class for the class of 2022.
Before Malchow’s brief tenure at A&M, he and Lanning crossed paths for years at Georgia. Malchow was Georgia’s Director of Player Personnel, and under his control, the Bulldogs thrived in recruiting. The Bulldogs assembled top-five recruiting classes consecutively each year. In February 2018, he was named National Player Personnel Director of the Year by FootballScoop.com.
Malchow held the director of player personnel title at Georgia from 2016 to 2020.
Before landing at Georgia, Malchow held the same title at Washington and took control of all recruiting aspects for the Huskies in 2015. Malchow originally joined Chris Petersen’s staff in 2012 at Boise State as the assistant director of player personnel.
This hire comes days after the reports of offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham and special teams coordinator Matt Powledge joining Oregon’s staff under Lanning.
