Tyler Huntley will get the start for the Baltimore Ravens when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers in their regular-season finale, head coach John Harbaugh announced on Friday. The writing was on the wall for Huntley to get the starting nod again as Lamar Jackson continues to battle an ankle injury that has plagued him dating to Week 14 when he suffered the injury in a loss to the Browns

Jackson did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday of this week and has only practiced once since suffering the injury. That came last week leading up to Baltimore’s Week 17 loss to the Rams where Jackson returned to action on a limited basis on Wednesday before he was ultimately held out the following two days. In that brief glimpse of Jackson during that session, the former MVP had a very pronounced limp, which was hardly an encouraging sign.

With Jackson out, Huntley is in line to start his fourth game of the season for the Ravens. While Baltimore has only won one of his three starts, Huntley has played well in those contests. As the starter, he is completing 68.5% of his passes for 210.3 yards per game and has thrown two touchdowns and two picks. He’s also rushed for 167 yards and two scores.

Baltimore’s season does rest on this game as they’ll need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. To clinch a playoff berth in Week 18, the Ravens need to win along with the Chargers, Colts and Dolphins all losing in their respective matchups.
