Seahawks S Quandre Diggs Has A Dislocated Ankle, Will Stay In Arizona For Surgery – Seahawks.com

GLENDALE, Ariz.—The Seahawks closed out their season with an impressive 38-30 win over the Arizona, but the game also featured a significant injury, with safety Quandre Diggs leaving the game on a cart with an air cast on his leg.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Diggs dislocated his ankle and fractured fibula, an injury that will require Diggs to stay behind in Arizona for surgery. The injury is all the more unfortunate because Diggs, a Pro-Bowler in each of the past two seasons, is set to become a free agent when the new league year begins in March.

“Just a heartbreaker, just because everyone loves this guy so much because of who he is,” Carroll said. “He is such an embedded leader, the character, the toughness, all the stuff that he stands for. Guys just love this guy, so it crushed everybody. And it wasn’t ignored in the way they finished. They finished for him. My heart is broken for him getting hurt like that. But he’ll back. There’s some months in there, but he’ll be back for the season next year, so that’s the positive side of it.”
